2019．3．2(土)～3．2(日)　餅つき大会

　寒の餅つき大会というには、余りにも遅すぎて寒を冠には使えませんが、棚田交流活動で、初めての餅つきをしました。

2019．3．2（土）

　餅つきの前日は、ほだ木シイタケを収穫し、たっぷり使っての夕食会です。

2019．3．3(日）

　初めての餅つきでしたので、余り欲張らず、餅米5．0ｋｇ・2臼にしました。餅はきな粉、あんこ、大根おろしでいただきます。

　ついたり、こねたり、丸めたりは、地元の奥さん方がリードしてくれました。

8時過ぎ釜に火を入れ、9時過ぎから一臼目をつき始め、二臼目は、10時半ばに月終わりました。

　天気は雨の予報で心配しましたが、午前中何とか持ちこたえてくれました。

 An activity for pounding steamed rice into rice cakes

We pounded steamed rice into rice cakes for first time at our tanada maintenance activity. Rice cakes are made using a mallet and a mortar. We enjoyed eating delicious rice cakes with soybean flour, soybean paste and finely grated radish. I was afraid that it might be a rainy day during our activity, but we were lucky to pound steamed rice cakes without rain interrupting us.

2018．12．1～2　年末行事

12月1日（土）

今日は、棚田保全活動のメンバーで忘年会。ご馳走のメニューは、恒例のカニすきです。昼に集合し、朝倉山椒の苗を3本植えました。実がなるまでには3年ほどかかるようですが、高齢組にはちょっと長いような気がします。忘年会は、夜更けまでにぎやかでした。お開きの時間、就寝時間は不明です。

Saturday, December 1^st – Sunday December 2^nd

 Our year-end activity

 Our end of year party was held by our volunteer members. The party’s meal menu was our annual “kanisuki”. Kanisuki is crab and vegetables cooked in a pot on the dining table and eaten after being dipped in a sauce. We gathered at noon and planted three young Asakura Sansho tree seedlings. (Japanese papper).

 We have to wait for 3 years until these trees produce fruit. Our end of year party started at 5 o’clock. We enjoyed ourselves till late at night. I don’t remember what the time was when our end of year party ended and the time when went to bed because of too much drinking.

12月2日（日）

1年間お世話になった「ふれあい交流館」の大掃除。皆さんの手慣れた作業ですっかりきれいになり新年を迎えます。そのあとは、そば打ち大会の始まりです。全員参加で、捏ねる、延ばす、切る、茹でるをします。そして、棚田蛇紋岩米のおにぎりと一緒に昼食をいただきます。

　来年は、棚田交流活動餅つき大会をすることになりました。初めての試みですが、これも恒例行事にしたいと思います。

10月29日（月）ピザ窯の屋根工事が完成しました。

　雨ざらしでは、ピザ窯の傷みが心配されましたので、ピザ窯の屋根の設置が今年の活動目標でした。

　屋根はピザ窯を含め倉庫の入口面全体をカバーするものにしました。パイプは会員の佐藤さんから提供していただき、その他の資材を購入しての工事です。

　工事は、灘井会長と佐藤さんが中心になって進められました。約3日間の工期で完成にこぎ着けました。

　これからは、雨の心配をすることなく、ピザ祭りが開催できます。

　大いに活躍してもらいます。　

Monday, October 29^th 2018

 The roof extension above our kiln has been completed.

 The construction of the roof extension above our pizza kiln was one of the most important activities of this year. When it was exposed to the rain directly, the pizza kiln got damaged, so a roof extension to stop that was a must. Chairperson Nadai and Mr. Sato were the main people who advanced its construction. It was completed over a term of about three working days. Now it is possible to hold a pizza party without worrying about the raining.

 From now we can expect to get a lot of work out of our pizza kiln at many parties to come.

10月14日(日）～15日(月）草刈り・ピザ窯の屋根工事

　稲刈り・収穫祭が終わると年末の行事まで一休みだった棚田活動ですが、今年は不作付地の草刈りが待っていました。作付けしなかった田んぼに生えた草を刈っておかないと米づくりが出来なくなってしまいます。

　14日(日）は5人でひたすら草を刈りました。笹の侵入もちょくちょく見られます。心配です。

　15日(月）は、ピザ窯の屋根工事会員の佐藤さんからパイプを譲り受け組み立てていきます。完成までにはあと2日ほどかかりそうです。

Saturday, October 14^th - Sunday, October 15^th

The cutting of weeds and constructing a roof extension

 When we leave rice paddies fallow for 2-3 years after taking a harvest of rice, then in that time the field get covered in grass. Therefore we cut weeds in the whole rice paddy. In total 5 volunteers spent the whole day cutting weeds. Next, on the 15^th we constructed the roof extension to cover the pizza kiln. If the pizza kiln doesn’t have a roof over it, it will gradually be damaged by the elements such as rain or snow, and it’s no fun cooking pizza in the rain. It seems that the construction of the roof extension will take us two more days to complete.

９月22日（土）～23日（日）稲刈り・収穫祭

　数日前から雨が降り続き、稲刈り日和とはほど遠い状態が続いていました。前日の昼の天気予報でやっと当日は午前中曇り20％、午後曇り0％、翌日の日曜日は曇りのち晴れとなり、太陽マークが少し顔を出しました。

　で、決行したのですが、当日の昼前、高柳に向かう途中から雨が降り出し遠さかトンネルを抜けても雨、その時はさすがに気落ちしました。

　昼前、高柳に着く頃に、やっと雨が上がり、それからは何とかお天気が持ち直してくれました。お陰で稲刈り・収穫祭は写真のとおり楽しいものとなりました。

Rice Harvest and Harvest Festival

The rice harvest and harvest festival are the most important activities among the tanada volunteer activities. It is desirable that the rice is already dried when we reap it. A few days of rain continued, so we were worried that the rice would not have been able to dry properly. It was also raining a little on the morning of the rice harvest day. But, fortunately, the rain stopped in the morning so we could reap rice under the cloudy condition. We cut the rice by hand with sickles. To make it dry by the sun, we hanged those rice bunches on the wooden inaki trestles.

The activity was finished by the evening and we enjoyed having a BBQ after that.

初めてのスエーデントーチ（木こりのろうそく）は、なかなか乙なものでした。

23日（日）は前日の残りの稲刈りと稲木掛け。畦のシート剥がし、草刈りと午前中いっぱい作業が続きました。そして、昼食は棚田蛇紋岩米のおにぎりとピザを30枚焼いて楽しみました。

8月18日（土）～19日（日）第2回草刈り活動

　先月、草刈りが中止され、草ボウボウになっていた田んぼもすっかり気持ちよくなりました。9月22日の稲刈りまで、せっせと実をつけてくれることだと思います。

　今回の草刈りは半分以上が休耕田の畦になってしまいました。（ちょっとさみしい状況です）休耕田の作付け面には早や、笹の侵入が見られます。何とかしなければ・・・・m(_ _)m

稲刈り・収穫祭の後は、作付け面の草刈りが待っています。

7月7日（土）～8日（日）第1回草刈り活動

　　　荒天のため中止になりました。

6月3日（日）田植え作業
