2019.10.26（土）～27(日）第3回草刈り活動

・休耕田が多くなった棚田の3回目の草刈りです。畦や法面だけでなく作付面の草も刈りますのでたいへんです。兎に角、田んぼとしての機能が失われないようにしないといけません。

・谷筋の両側に広がる棚田のその谷筋の川が昨年の大雨で数カ所被害を受けました。大分、復旧工事が進んでいます。

・今年獲れた米は、籾で4袋だけでした。

Mowing Activity

October 26^th ～27^th 2019

We mowed the land for the third time this year.

We mowed not only the ridges between the rice fields and the surfaces of the slopes but also the surfaces of the cultivation areas.

We had trouble because there were many areas which we had to mow.

Anyway, we have to do it to maintain the function of the rice field.

The river which flows in Tanada was damaged by heavy rain last year.

Restoration construction is underway now.

We were only able to harvest 4 bags of unhulled rice from this season. (As is shown in picture below)

2019.9.21（土）～22(日）稲刈り・収穫祭

　1日目（21日）

　台風17号の接近で今回の2日間の予報は、時間を追うごとに悪くなって行きました。それでも決行の合図をもとに12：00集合。その頃になって雨は小康状態に。ならばと、皆さんカッパを着込んで稲刈り開始。田んぼ1枚だけでしたが、全てを手刈り、稲木に掛けて5時に作業は終了しました。

　収穫祭というには、少しさみしい人数でしたが、とりあえず作業を終えほっとした気分でささやかでも楽しい収穫祭となりました。

Rice Harvest and Harvest Festival

Saturday, September 21^st 2019 ～ Sunday, 22^nd

The activity was conducted during bad weather conditions because a typhoon was coming close. Our member gathered at 12:00 midday on Saturday. The rain had stopped by that time, so we began to work as was scheduled. We wore raincoats.

We only worked on one step of the rice field, and our activity was performed by handwork and we finished working at 5:00 p.m. The Harvest Festival was joined by only a small number of people. We enjoyed it with the satisfaction which comes from having finished doing hard work.

　2日目（22日）

　諦めかけていた2日目も雨上がりの合間を狙って、残りの田んぼの稲刈りを始める。何とか雨に悩まされることなく刈り取って、稲木に掛け、畦シートを外し回収して昼前作業終了。

2019.8.17～18　草刈活動（2回目）

　盆明けの最初の土日、猛暑の中での草刈りでした。休耕田の中の草刈りは、正しく草まみれ。僅かな作付けなのに鹿の被害を受けたりして一層さみしい限りです。

2019．7．6～7　草刈活動

　当日は、雨の予報でやむなく中止かと按じていた草刈でしたが、幸い両日とも曇り空の下で作業ができました。刈った畦の半分以上は休耕田の畦であります。これからは、休耕田の作付け面の草も刈りますので、草刈が活動の中心になります。

　鹿の食害にあった朝倉山椒は、急遽、設置した防護柵に守られ元気に新芽をつけてくれました。

２０１９．６．２田植え活動

今年は、たくさんある棚田のうち２枚だけ田植えをしました。残りは、残念ながら休耕田になります。

 An activity of planting rice

We planted rice only two places on the tanada(terraced rice fields) of many places this year.

 Unfortunately, the rest of tanada will be fallow fields.

昨年末、植えた朝倉山椒。元気に育っていると喜んでいたのに３本のうち１本が鹿の食害にあっていました。慌てて防護柵をつくりました。これ以上被害に遭いませんように！

We planted three trees of Asakura Japanese pepper end of the year.

 We thought all three trees were growing up vigorously, but one of three was eaten by a deer, and it had begun to wither up.

So, we installed a guard fence quickly.

しっかり農作業を終えた後のお昼ご飯。棚田蛇紋岩米のおにぎりとたくさんのご馳走をいただきました。

２０１９．５．１２田植えの準備

　畦の草刈と畦シート貼りそれに水路の整備をしました。

棚田のそばに立派な藤ノ木が。藤棚はなく鹿柵に囲まれてちょっと可哀想。

年末に植えた朝倉山椒の苗木は３本とも元気に新芽を出してました。
